Purpose / Role Summary

The Drafter/Designer functions as a support position within and to the Engineering Department. Primary responsibilities include the creation, revision, and documentation of accurate models and drawings, and some calculations.

Reporting Line

The Drafter/Designer will report directly to Engineering Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accurately model, re-model, and revise parts and assemblies in Solid Works as part of both PLM and R&D
  • Accurately make Drawings of models within ASME Y14.5 standards including GD&T
  • Document changes as required in ECNs, logs, reports, etc.
  • Maintain, improve, and document model and drawing organization
  • Make facilities drawings
  • Perform calculations as required ie. tolerance stack, gland fit
  • Create and/or follow documented procedures in compliance with API and ISO quality standard
  • Perform all work in a safe manner
  • Safeguard all proprietary information
  • Basic stress analysis
  • Concept design/development
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Education Requirements

  • Minimum: 2 Year Degree   
  • Preferred: 4 Year Degree

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Preferred: 5 years' experience

Skill Sets

  • Proficient with Solid Works
  • Advanced 3D modeling and drawing ability
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge and ability (preferred)
